Long week trip to the East Coast of US

"Journey of a thousand miles being with a single step" - a famous quote which is quite true when we try to start for any planned things. It may relate to your life and even when you have planned for a long journey.

My journey's in life have always been exciting as I always had a group of friends with me who had the same ambitions for roaming places around the globe. It might be too lucky!! Trust and relations within your friends circle make your journey a exciting one.

It was quite a hectic task to decide and plan for a long week journey for us to New York destination covering all the major areas in the East Coast of America during the July shutdown. Planning takes a master guys who are quite good in the geographical area and quick in booking tickets for the plan. Some decisions are little late but good at last. So, one night in the middle of 1:00 am we all decided to kick off for the long trip to the East Coast with only names of the best places to visit in our journey.

Yep, the things rolled out gracefully! We all had the pockets to be emptied for the trip! It may be around $1500 for the entire trip.

You may be thinking visiting East Coast might only cover New York right? Hmm no it covered all the good destinations we could cover across the East coast.

Washington DC - Capitol of United States of America
Luray Caverns - Place near Washington DC
Buffalo, West Virginia - Its not the real buffalo but its a good place though
Niagara Falls
New York City

Believe me its not only these places in the list above but many things I will cover in my journey!

If you are quite good in driving and have a state license of any states in United States so it the best trip for you to drive through long journeys. Road trips are usually exciting when you drive through the windings on a hilly area.

We had planned our journey from Washington DC airport, so it was from San Francisco where we kicked off our journey from. A long time journey usually challenges your mind how did you got a chance to travel time just two hours ahead of the actual time you left from. Connecting flights make it little relaxing as you get time to do some stuff roaming about new airports rather than just sitting in a single position throughout the long journey. Watching around people with all the fatigue faces for traveling, makes it more boring sometimes. Yeah you have some good times too when relatives depart their dear ones at the airport and have a mixed feeling of joy and happiness combined in a pool of tears.

Once you reach Washington DC you can plan for a rental car for 5 days which you can surely return at the New York airport. It might cost too high, if you are really planning to use the 5 days tenure else you can return early to get the benefits and less cost for the vehicle.

A trip to Alcatraz Jail in San Fransico

Trip to Alcatraz Island in San Francisco

Alcatraz is a well-know jail in San Francisco. Alcatraz jail is on a lone island which is visible from the Golden Gate bridge. The cold winds flowing across the Pacific ocean has its strong hold on the insights of the city. It had the most rated criminals in the American history.

Booking tickets for Alcatraz:

You need to book the tickets at least 2 months prior to visit the place. The booking slots is mostly full. Its really a task for the traveller to book the cruise for the place which you might compare to booking tickets on the irctc.com for Indian railways. Jokes apart! Things are really curious visiting the place where three prisoners were able to escape using their wit.

To have the best of the experience while visiting the place and gather the knowledge/ ideas to escape from the prison you can have a glimpse of the movie 'Clint Eastwood - Escape from Alcatraz'. Its a short movie though but interesting to find how the gang of three prisoners were able to run away from the prison.

Its always best to visit places like these with your group of friends who have a similar interest to watch though or you may have some variant in friends who might not make you enjoy the trip.. so plan well!

The cruise journey is quite exciting and below link takes you to the location where you journey starts from.

AddressSan Francisco Pier 33 - Alcatraz Island, San Francisco, CA 94111
Hours
Open today · 9AM–5PM

The first site you have when you drive through the cruise is you see the huge San Francisco leaving behind the journey trail to Alcatraz island. The best you can take for the shoreline of the bay area. The cold winds driving by and the tender cold from the ocean makes you journey quite smooth. Do not miss a click of the Bay area of the San Fransisco while departing... it will embark to you memory footprints.

Just approaching the jail you see the words craved at the entrance of the Jail 'WELCOME INDIANS!'

I bet you might have thought how Indian prisoners made it to the Alcatraz jail, but jokes apart Indians here refer to the Red Indians who used to reside in America before the foundation of the America. It was surprising to me too when I read this in between the cold winds of the Pacific ocean. You need to have a good camera if you have really planned to visit the place.

Once you land at the doorsteps of the jail you see the mighty jail in the middle of nowhere having all round surrounded by water. You cant even think of swimming in the cold water which might bring you in cold arrest. Freezing temperatures goes up to 5 degree centigrade.

Do select the audio assistance available at the jail of your language type.. (Off course you may not get all the 26 official languages from India but do select English) which is usually covered in the trip. The audio tour has lots of voices of the prisoners who used to stay in the jail and information about which path you need to take while taking a trip of the jail.

I won't describe the story about the run but its better you watch the escape at the movie and locate the jail areas where the prisoners had planned and ran away from the huge jail. The rest I will keep a surprise for you to explore the journey to Alcatraz jail.

Have a great trip and do write your comments below if this blog was helpful for you to generate the interest for rising the curiosity for escaping through the prison.

Bingo you hit the correct spot! - Thanks for visiting!

Right from the start of career, I had always an aspiration to be wealthy and prosperous, to own a big bungalow and have a self owned Helicopter with helipad at my bungalow. Yeah this seems to be much easier in dreams and imagination but in reality is completely different.

I do remember the days when my father used to return from his day tiring job to home with all his hard-work on his skin with beads of sweat. My father started his life as a normal account person managing books with payment information. I could imagine his journey coming to Mumbai and starting a life from scratch. Being just a simple account writer and his account knowledge he had his dreams fulfilled earning much to make bread for the family. Now at this point of time, his sweat beads have turned into stable and much owned assets to sustain his life in his retirement.

I am writing this blog to keep a mark of things which I have done in my life even if I might not have achieved a 100% success but gathered experiences throughout my journey in life. This blog is dedicated to my parents who have given a chance to grow and explore things in life in a more disciplined manner. I owe it to my mom who holds courage to fight when there are times in life which you can't command on.
